Respiratory Rate Monitoring Tool
Follow the animated breathing below to count your breaths and enter them to assess your respiratory health.
About Respiratory Rate
Normal Range: 12–20 breaths/min in adults. Monitoring helps identify early signs of respiratory distress or chronic disease progression.
- COPD: Chronic airflow limitation causes rapid shallow breathing.
- Asthma: Narrowed airways can elevate respiratory rate.
- Heart Failure: Pulmonary congestion increases breathing effort.
- Sleep Apnea: Irregular respiratory rhythm may occur at rest.
How to Measure
- Relax and sit upright.
- Watch the animation — count one breath per rise and fall.
- Count for 60 seconds, then input the number above.
Interpretation
Respiratory rates below 10 (bradypnea) or above 24 (tachypnea) may indicate underlying disease — seek medical advice.
